What is the maximum weight any garbage bag can weigh?
  35 lbs
 
What is the largest size garbage bag I can use?
  There is no specific bag size limit, though individual bags should not weigh more than 35 lbs.
 
What do I do with extra recycling that does not fit in my bin?
  Occasional recycling overflow can be packaged in clear garbage bags and placed next to the recycling bin. Do not place extra recycling in regular garbage bags. This will most likely be mistaken for trash and thrown out accidentally.
 
Does Duncan Disposal pick up old refrigerators?
  Yes, but the refrigerant, such as freon, must be removed by a certified technician before pick up of the refrigerator. Call the Customer Service Department, (817) 317-2000. Also, City of Arlington residents can drop off old refrigerators for recycling at Arlington Landfill, located at 800 Mosier Valley Road.
 
Where should I place my garbage and recycling containers?
  Duncan Disposal recommends that garbage and recycling bins be placed at the curb in front of the residence at a distance no greater than 7 feet from the curb.
 
How should I build the trash enclosure for my commercial business?
  Please reference the commercial container enclosure section of this website for more information on construction of enclosures for waste containers. Or, contact Duncan Disposal’s Customer Service Department at (817) 317-2000.
 
Can I contact another Waste service company to pick up the trash at my house?
  No. Although the billing for residential service is processed through the City’s water department, Duncan Disposal has an exclusive contract with the City of Arlington for the collection of all residential garbage and recycling.
 
Can I use another Waste company to pick up the trash at my business?
  No. Duncan Disposal has an exclusive contract with the City of Arlington for the collection of all commercial and construction waste. Please contact Duncan Disposal directly to set up your service at (817) 317-2000.
 
Will Duncan Disposal pick up brush and tree limbs?
  Yes, so long as they are cut not to exceed 4 feet and bundled together in less than 50 lbs. bundles. Brush collection is limited to one (1) cubic yard per collection day.
 
Will Duncan Disposal pick up old refrigerators, tires, batteries, etc?
  No. Federal law prohibits the collection of hazardous waste. Duncan Disposal cannot collect other Houehold Haradous Wastes, including: acids, antifreeze, motor oil, brake fluid, oil filters, transmission fluid, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, gasoline, cooking oil, tires, paint, paint thinners, solvents, varnish, batteries, fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides, or refrigerant such as freon.
